About Choirbolical
Choirbolical is a Toowoomba Community Choir. Formed in 2002 following workshops conducted late 2001 by renowned musical educator, James Cuskelly, Choirbolical is a choir for all those who love to sing, with or without musical experience.
Rehearsals -Choirbolical meets fortnightly on Tuesday evenings 7.30pm-9,00pm during school terms. Our current home is Middle Ridge Uniting Church hall, Stenner Street.
The Musical Director is Margaret Muller who brings to our rehearsals a fresh and relaxed approach to making music together. A graduate of University of Queensland who studied voice, Margaret has a wealth of musical leadership to offer us. Former Music Director 2002-2006, Tess Laird, a consummate musical professional, lead members of Choirbolical in it’s formative years and without a doubt taught many of us to sing. Tess continues to inspire students in her role as a music educator.
Events and workshops are held annually to inspire those who love to sing and we meet 2 or 3 times a year with other Community choirs to share musical experiences, workshops and joint concerts.
Our Repertoire is wide and varied: canons, folksongs from different cultures, spirituals and choral songs in SATB and SAB. Our aim is to enjoy making music together and under the Music Director’s guidance we continually find new, challenging and inspiring repertoire. Current music parts recordings can be accessed for those who wish to practice their own parts a home. Sheet music is available for purchase at rehearsals.
Fees – Choirbolical is a non-profit organization and fees are paid to cover costs.
