This coming Tuesday 21st is a regular rehearsal 6.45pm for 7pm. It was lovely to present our repertoire so far this year to a very appreciative audience on Sunday. A couple of rehearsals now until Chilly Sing in Stanthorpe so new songs to learn and a little more polishing.

Firstly, from our friends at High Altitude Harmony:

We are excited to invite you and your singing group to the High Country Harmony Festival, the annual regional convention of Barbershop singers in Queensland, hosted by High Altitude Harmony. This event is a wonderful celebration of A’cappella singing and offers a fantastic opportunity for local talent to shine.

The day’s activities include:
• Competition (Morning Session)
o Choruses: 9:00 AM – 10:00 AM
o Quartets: 10:30 AM – 1:00 PM
• Concert (Evening Session)
o Time: 7:00 PM
o A concert featuring the winners from the morning competition.

Many of the competitors are striving to qualify for the national competition later this year on the Gold Coast. The performances will range from all-male to mixed and all-female groups, providing a diverse showcase of Barbershop talent.
We would be delighted for your group to attend both the competition and the evening concert. It’s a perfect chance to support your peers, enjoy exceptional performances, and be part of our vibrant singing community.

And an evening of Gypsy Jazz coming up in June from Alliance Francaise

Next Sunday 19th May at St Stephen’s church 2pm.
Singers bring your plate of afternoon tea to the hall where we will warm up our voices at 1.45pm.
Family and friends are most welcome to this short concert to hear some of the music we’ve been working on this year. This will be a warm up for the Stanthorpe Chilly Sing in June 🙂

The first Choirbolical performance for the year is coming up soon and we ‘almost’ sounded performance ready at this week’s rehearsal. It did help that Caroline shared her , performance hints – Heads up! Accept the applause!! and Tell the story with body and song!!! If you didn’t make our last rehearsal – come along next Tuesday 7/5 with music ready: Coffee; Pretty Little Horses; Canta; Riversong.

It is going to be a lovely afternoon with a short concert @ 2pm and long afternoon tea to follow – Sunday May 19th St Stephen’s in Neil Street. Plan to park in St Stephen’s carpark / Redeemer Church carpark or far away as Primary school Eisteddfod is on at the Empire.
